In the Vaults Page, managing your Vaults is made straightforward with options to Edit and Delete them. This functionality, found under the Actions column, ensures that you can keep your security settings up-to-date and relevant to your needs.
To edit a Vault, you simply click the 'Edit' button. However, it's crucial to have the Personal Encryption Key at hand, as this key is required to authenticate and authorize the editing process. This security measure ensures that only users with the correct credentials can make changes to the Vault.
Accessing the Edit Feature: Locate the 'Edit' button under the Actions column in the Vaults Page to begin editing a Vault.
Personal Encryption Key Requirement: To proceed with edits, you must provide the Personal Encryption Key of the Vault. This step is crucial for security and ensures that only authorized users can make changes.
Next to the editing option, the 'Delete Vault' button allows for the removal of unnecessary/unused Vaults. While deleting a Vault won't immediately affect running applications or runners, it's important to note that any subsequent restarts of these applications or runners will necessitate a reconfiguration to accommodate the remaining Vaults.
Delete Option: Alongside the edit feature, there's a 'Delete Vault' button under Actions.
Using Delete Vault: This allows you to permanently remove Vaults that are no longer needed.
The ability to edit and delete Vaults in Cortex offers flexibility in managing your security settings. The requirement of a Personal Encryption Key for editing reinforces the security measures, while the delete option provides a way to streamline your Vaults list as your needs evolve. Remember, changes made to Vaults can have implications on your Applications and Runners, especially upon restarts, so plan these actions carefully.
